Madrid

Last week I got to visit Madrid, the capital of Spain.  The city was so cold in comparison to Barcelona, not to mention cloudy the entire time we were there, but we were able to make the most of it.  We took the bus tour through the city and were able to see many of the famous buildings of Madrid.  We also toured the Prado Museum, which is one of the most famous Renaissance museums in Europe.  One thing I appreciated about Madrid was the fact that the people spoke Spanish and not Catalan like they do in Barcelona, it made it so much easier to communicate with people!  Even though it was cold, it was nice walking around the city and seeing all the Christmas lights and decorations.  The trip was stressful and tiring but the pictures turned out pretty nice.

Tibidabo

This is the temple and amusement park (funny combo, right?) on Mt. Tibidabo in Barcelona.  Probably the highest point in BCN, although, I may have just made that part up.  The temple was gorgeous, the Catholic churches here are incredible and the doors are always open, so I take every chance I get to peak inside.

Tibidabo means “I will give thee” and was taken from the Bible verse Matthew 4:9 when the devil said to Jesus, “All these things will I give to thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.”
